Salvo [FINIS] First project !

For a first project, I thought something simple would be better then to move onto something new. So the project connects two basic components, an LED which flashes to indicate that the project is running and some text is printed to the LCD. The device used is a PIC16F628, which are quite easy to come by and easier still to write code for.

The project’s purpose is therefore simply a means of getting the Salvo [FINIS] up and running and to determine that your purchase is working.

/*

  -SALVO [FINIS] -
  Testing and development code for SALVO[FINIS] V 1.0

*/

char uart_rd;

void LED()
{
 PORTB.B0= 1;
 Delay_ms(500);
 PORTB.B0=0;
 Delay_ms(500);
}

void start()
{
 TRISB = 0xFE;
}

void main() {

     start();

     while(1)
     {
            LED();
     }
}

Configuring the project

The PORTB.BO, requires an LED and Resistor in series connected from PORTB, bit 0 to ground. Once the code is downloaded to the PCB and powered up, the LED will start to flash.

Next project . . .

In the next project, I will hook up an LCD display, and move the text from left to right.
